A few years ago I stumbled across one of the wackiest legal stories I’ve ever seen.
Brian Aitken, a marketing executive and outdoorsman was in the process of moving homes in New Jersey and had his firearms with him in cases in the car. This is a legal exemption under New Jersey state law, but Brian was arrested anyways an during his trial, the judge would not allow the exemptions to be read in court. He was convicted of multiple felonies and given a seven-year prison sentence. Brian was fortunately granted clemency after four months, but he was still a convicted felon.
Whether you want more gun control or less, we can all agree that what happened to Brian was a total injustice. When I heard about this story, I bought 100 copies of his book as part of a fundraiser for his legal proceedings and donated a Glock handgun to his campaign as well. I’ve followed it closely ever since.
I’m excited to say that in January 2018 he was finally granted full pardon, and this past weekend I attended his celebration in New Jersey.
Glockstore made a fully custom Glock for Brian to celebrate him finally being able to legally own firearms again after nearly 10 years of being a convicted felon. Congratulations Brian!
